Our Story
Tulsa Advocates was born out of frustration after the 2025 presidential inauguration—specifically, the events that unfolded during the inauguration, the executive orders signed, and the widespread fear instilled in millions of Americans and migrants. A group of us, upset by what we saw, knew we couldn’t just stand by and do nothing. So, we organized our first march and protest on February 5th.
Our goal for Tulsa Advocates is to create a supportive space in Tulsa where people of all ages—youth and adult leaders—can feel safe to advocate, express themselves, and share their opinions. While we’re still in the early stages, and there’s a lot more to do, we’ve already begun laying the groundwork. Some of us have experience advocating in other states, and a few of us are former members of GenZ of Sunrise Tulsa. We’re combining our community organizing skills to build a space where people can learn about different cultures, participate in workshops and retreats, engage in networking events or protests, and get involved in tabling efforts to take action.
Although we’re just getting started, we’re focused on providing resources for reproductive health, sexual education, self-love, and justice system reform. These are critical issues that we plan to address moving forward, as it’s important to tackle the systemic inequalities affecting many lives in our community. We aim to use mass media to help raise awareness and amplify voices for causes that matter.
We hope to collaborate with local businesses and organizations to build partnerships and create opportunities for growth. Our mission is to empower individuals to take action, learn from each other, and work together to create a better future.
We’re still in the early stages and not yet an official non-profit, so we’re working with limited resources. But we’re committed to growing and doing as much as we can with what we have. Our goal is to build a lasting, inclusive movement and keep the momentum going.
