Community Outreach Volunteer
Role Description:
The Community Outreach Volunteer is a key part of Tulsa Advocates, helping to spread the word about what we do and making a difference in the community. This role is all about getting involved, meeting new people, and representing Tulsa Advocates at events, protests, and meetings. You’ll be helping us build connections, share our mission, and encourage others to get involved!
What You’ll Do:
Post flyers around the community in local businesses, cafes, or public spaces to help promote events and initiatives.
Attend events, protests, and rallies to represent us and support causes we care about.
Help set up tables at events with flyers, posters, and other materials to share information about our work.
Talk to people at events, answer questions, and spread the word about what Tulsa Advocates is all about.
Join Tulsa Advocates meetings to stay in the loop on our current projects and upcoming plans.
Encourage others to get involved by talking about upcoming events and initiatives.
Help with planning and organizing events to make sure everything runs smoothly.
Gather feedback from the community to share what people are thinking and help us improve our work.
Build relationships with local businesses, community leaders, and other groups to help grow our impact.
Take on other tasks as needed – this role is flexible and will evolve as our needs change!
What We’re Looking For:
Friendly and confident communication skills – you’ll be talking to people and representing our organization.
Passion for social justice and a willingness to get involved in the community.
Comfort with attending events and protests, or just showing up and getting things done.
A team player who’s excited to help out wherever needed, and isn’t afraid to take on new things.
No experience required – just a positive attitude and eagerness to learn!
Logistics Volunteer
What You’ll Be Doing:
As a Logistics Volunteer, you’ll help make our events in Tulsa run smoothly. From setup to wrap-up, you’ll be part of the behind-the-scenes action ensuring everything is in place and ready to go.
What You’ll Do:
Assist with setting up event spaces, including decorations, signage, and supplies.
Stay on top of the event schedule to ensure things run on time.
Help with guest registration to ensure smooth check-ins.
Be a go-to contact for any issues or questions that come up during the event.
Help manage event flow, ensuring smooth transitions between activities.
Troubleshoot on-site as things pop up (because they always do!).
Coordinate and guide volunteers so everyone knows their role.
Assist with packing up and cleaning up after the event is over.
Brainstorm with the team to improve logistics for future events.

Calm under pressure—able to stay cool when things get busy.
Great communicator—comfortable talking with team members, guests, and vendors.
Quick on your feet—able to handle issues as they come up.
